Highs of the week #7

Highs of the week #7

My first Highs of the Week of 2015 is here! It’s been a tough one deciding what makes the cut as I got so many delicious treats for Christmas, ate the yummiest of food and I’ve had a wee dabble in the sales… I’ve also had some magical moments with friends, family and my boyfriend so I could literally list 100 highs this week. Here are the real standouts for me.

Goals for 2015

Okay, so I know what you’re thinking “not another blogger writing about detoxes and early morning yoga.” But the thing is, when I write something down, especially on my blog I find I’m 99% more likely to achieve it. I’m one of those gals who loves a to-do-list and ticking of those completed tasks even more. My blog is basically my online diary which I love sharing with you all, and by listing my goals for 2015 and reading many of yours I hope we can motivate, encourage and inspire each other.

Highs of the week #6

This past week has been an emotional one for me. My hormones have been in full on cray cray mode and a few personal matters have had me on a roller-coaster of tears, anxiety and exhaustion. I’ve consumed a little too much wine and my psoriasis is super angry, I look like I’ve been stood in a snow globe for several hours. Oh well, Christmas is coming and I’ve told myself to snap out of my mood and get back into the festive spirit I had all through October and November, maybe I festively peaked too early? So whilst I’ve been a wee bit blue over the last week a few things have stood out for me…

Make do & mend

On Friday night, one of my close friends came round to my flat. After a hideous week I was very much in need of a night in with a girlfriend, Harry Potter and pizza. Naturally, we got talking about some pretty deep stuff as Harry, Ron and Hermione hijacked the bodies of three Ministry of Magic staff and stole the horcux off ol’ Umbridge.

We talked about how willing people are to give up on things – fun, fun fun! At the moment, my Facebook & Twitter feed and that hideous right-hand column of Daily Mail Online are filled with couples breaking up, divorces, and ‘conscious un-coupling’ (Gwen babes, there really is no euphemism for ‘divorce’ I’m afraid.) Couples I know who I thought were as happy as Larry, and Hollywood couples I was so sure would make it are crumbling in front of my eyes. Whilst I really don’t care about the latter (unless Bey and Jay break-up, I would have to go into mourning) it does make me realise the sheer number of relationships that don’t last.

To vlog or not to vlog

To vlog or not to vlog? A thought I can’t seem to get out of my head at the moment, I’m sure there are many other amateur bloggers out there who are asking themselves the same question. In case you don’t know, vlogging is basically recording your day to day activities on a camera and publishing them on your blog.

Vloggers are often YouTube pros and have already been uploading videos of themselves for years, more often that not, showing their loyal fans how to perfect contouring and reviewing the latest beauty products. Vlogging is big news at the moment. Hundreds of twenty-somethings are making thousands of pounds and working full time as YouTubers and Vloggers.

Highs of the week #2

So it seems November is going ridiculously fast. It feels like just yesterday I was writing Highs of the week #1.

I’ve been researching lots of goodies online this week trying to get some inspiration for Christmas gifts and what I should actually ask Santa (my mum) for. There are so dreamy things around at the moment, I’m particularly obsessed with homeware and anything Whistles related at the moment. Here is what else I’ve been loving this week:
